Safety researchers have warned of a new one hacking campaign by a Lazarus APT group closely associated with the North Korean regime. The hackers have targeted companies in the defense industry.

According to Kaspersky researchers, the Lazarus group is a highly prolific, advanced threat actor active since at least 2009 and associated with many multi-faceted campaigns. Since early last year, Kaspersky said the group is targeting the defense industry with a custom backdoor called ThreatNeedle that moves sideways through infected networks and gathers sensitive information.
