Approximately 75% of Ohioans believe some form of bail reform is necessary. Commissioners also recently met with Michael Segrest, a field representative fort the Ohio chapter of Americans for Prosperity, to discuss a bill pending in the legislature that addresses bail reform. Commissioners met with Guernsey County Prosecuting Attorney Lindsey Angler in executive session to discuss personnel issues.
The health department levies are a half-mill, 10 year renewal levy and a half-mill, six year renewal levy that would also cost the owner of a $100,000 an estimated $25.92. The two levies for operating expenses at the health department will also appear on the November ballot after commissioners determined taxes raised within the current limits will be insufficient to levy a tax in excess of the 10-mill limitation.
