Martin Scorsese’s Next Film Could be Coming to Apple TV+

Martin Scorsese’s next big budget movie could go to Apple TV + (via Wall Street newspaper). Killers of the Flower Moon, based on the book of the same name by journalist David Grann, should play Leonardo Di Caprio and Robert Di Niro. It was originally planned to be directed by Paramount Pictures, but the skyrocketing costs caused the studio’s concern.

Costs drive Martin Scorsese representatives to talk to streaming services

Clearly, due to the increased budget, Paramount has enabled Scorsese’s representatives to speak with other potential partners. One is Apple and another is Netflix.

If Apple were to land the film, it would be an important moment in its development as a destination for film and television. However, Scorsese previously worked with Netflix on The Irishman. Whoever chooses the Oscar-winning director may not mean the end of Paramount’s involvement in Killers of the Flower Moon. One of the streaming services could spread the movie and help share some of the costs, along with an agreement to screen the movie in some movie theaters, as was done with The Irishman.
