Grant money is to assist with startup costs and new equipment purchases.Gave first reading to an ordinance that aims to rezone property at 1722 First St. NE to accommodate a proposed storage center, which is to be used to house recreational vehicles (RVs), boats, trailers and automobiles. Rezoning is for a 1.6-acre parcel from general business (B-3) to light industrial (LI). Cost of the vehicle is approximately $174,200, and delivery is expected by this fall. RCG Ventures and Stein Investment Group, both of Atlanta, have joined to form RCG-Stein, the entity in line to operate the property and spearhead the venture, part of which includes grocery and retail shops along Lincoln Way. The rezoning would allow for construction on a 7-acre section of the 11.7-acre parcel to accommodate a new indoor/outdoor storage facility.
