According to the sourceJuan Sipher, the principal trombonist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, will be performing at 8 pm on Monday, October 2 at the Squires Recital Salon. This highly anticipated performance promises to be an evening filled with beautiful music and exceptional talent.

Juan Sipher has an impressive background in the world of music. He has held principal trombonist positions with renowned orchestras such as the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he was a fellow at the prestigious New World Symphony Orchestra. With such a diverse range of experiences under his belt, it’s no wonder that Sipher is considered one of today’s leading trombonists.

Born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia, Sipher’s musical journey began at James Madison University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a minor in Jazz Studies. He later pursued his Master of Music in trombone performance from Yale University. Throughout his career, Sipher has also had the opportunity to perform with esteemed orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, and Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra.

Not only is Sipher a talented performer but he is also a dedicated educator. He has served as a trombone instructor at Hamilton College and the University of Northern Colorado. Furthermore, he has conducted masterclasses and presented recitals across the country. His passion for teaching extends beyond traditional methods as he actively contributes to expanding the trombone repertoire by composing and arranging music primarily for trombone ensembles and for trombone and loop pedal.

When not immersed in his musical pursuits, Sipher finds solace in nature through the majesty of the Colorado outdoors. He also has a fondness for the yeasty warmth of sourdough bread, the sound of a camera shutter, and the plink of a ukulele. These personal interests add depth to his musical persona and enrich his performances with an authentic connection to his art.

For those interested in attending Juan Sipher’s performance on October 2nd, tickets are available at $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors, and $10 for students. It promises to be an unforgettable evening where audiences will have the opportunity to witness Sipher’s remarkable talent firsthand.
