News owner, former Pennridge coach running race for mayor of Perkasie

Laustsen is the owner of Bloom Flower Co., a floral design studio and retail gift shop in downtown Perkasie.  “As mayor of Perkasie, I want to help this special borough remain a safe, secure and enjoyable place to live. Together, we can continue to work together toward a bright future for all,” he said.  “Living through a year of COVID-19 and such uncertainty, I’m proud to live in a town where residents and business owners have come together to show such immense strength, positivity and support,” Laustsen said.  “We take care of each other in Perkasie and it makes me so proud.”

As mayor, his priorities would be to promote the town’s businesses and buy locally, foster trust between residents and law enforcement, and “promote social values of peace, justice, freedom, and equality.”  “Being born and raised in Perkasie, I have deep appreciation for the quality of character, commitment to community and the caring nature of its people,” Hollenbach said. “The community has deeply impacted me and I feel called to serve.”

Hollenbach is a retired Pennridge teacher and head football coach for 13 seasons, including five in which he won championships. He’s also an active volunteer for several community groups. Neither candidate reported to which party they belong in their campaign announcements, but Hollenbach said he’s a Republican and voter registration records list Laustsen as a Democrat.
