On June 15th, Apple will introduce a global podcast in-app subscription service

Apple Has Launched Subscriptions For Podcasts

The Verge reports that the global launch of in-app subscriptions and channels is scheduled for June 15.

New Delhi: Apple, which pressed the delay button on the podcast subscription program, told podcasters that it’s finally starting an in-app subscription next week.

Apple previously stated that it would launch a podcast subscription and channel in June to “guarantee creators and listeners the best experience.”

With a focus on improving audio, Apple has released the latest iOS 14.6 update. This allows Apple Music subscribers to enable lossless audio or Dolby Atmos when it becomes available.

The new update iOS 14.6 also laid the foundation for Apple Podcasts subscriptions.

“We’re writing to keep you up to date on Apple Podcasts subscriptions and channel availability. We’re happy with the response to last month’s announcement, and we’re happy with hundreds of new subscriptions and channels from creators around the world every day. It’s exciting to see the submissions, “the company said.

“Apple Podcasts subscriptions and channels will be released in June to provide the best experience for creators and listeners. Through this newsletter, we’ll keep you up to date on availability and best practices to help you prepare your subscriptions and channels. I’ll let you know, “Apple added.

The platform allows podcast users to subscribe to in-app content for additional perks such as ad-free content and bonus content, as well as early access.

Apple has also improved the podcast app with the ability to mark all episodes as played, recover older episodes, and remove downloads. Apple’s rival Spotify has already begun planning a subscription podcast.

Last month, the Swedish music streaming giant announced several updates to make the app more accessible on iOS and Android, including a beta version of the podcast transcription feature. Apple launches podcast in-app subscription globally on June 15th
