Orange And Apple Working to Launch French Coronavirus Contact Tracing App in May

Apple is in talks with Orange, the largest telecom operator in France, to develop a contact tracking application for coronaviruses. We think the application should be ready by the end of May (via Reuters).

Apple and Orange meet “almost every day” to discuss contact training technology

Marie-Noelle Jego-Laveissiere, the company’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, indicated late May as the estimated time for such an application to be ready.

In addition, “there are meetings almost every day,” said Stephen Richards, CEO of Orange. “We have a dynamic of discussion with Apple that is not bad,” he added.
