Melissa Kendall, Transplant Coordinator at INTEGRIS says that once Ellis foes through testing, a committee will decide whether he will be put on a transplant list. Ellis Family May 7, 2021 – Doctors diagnosed Michael Ellis with liver cirrhosis in July 2020. Ellis told FOX23 that without a transplant they estimate he has about six months to live. (FOX23)
The couple is holding the yard sale in an effort to raise $8,500 to put toward the tests he needs. They’re also putting their home up for sale in an effort to downsize and move closer to the transplant center. Ellis says that insurance covered his consultation but they still need money for several tests and evaluations at INTEGRIS Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute in Oklahoma City.
