In the Harrisburg region, Penn State Health is running vaccination clinics at Penn State Health Holy Spirit in Cumberland County and at a location near Hershey in Dauphin County. People can sign up by going to Penn State Health’s online appointment scheduler or calling 1-844-774-8883. Even people who aren’t yet eligible can signup, putting themselves in line to be called and offered an appointment once they are eligible. Gibbs said Penn State Health is vaccinating about 2,800 people per day and has given more than 100,000 doses.
She said no doses have been wasted, but the situation causes staff to have to call people on a standby list and wait for them to arrive, with staffers sometimes having to stay until 9 p.m. She said out of 850 appointments, there will be 15-20 no-shows.
