The stars of the Apple TV show “The Morning Show” have been nominated for the Emmy Awards, with Steve Carell and Jennifer Aniston each receiving one nomination.
The nominations for the 72nd Emmy Awards, announced on Tuesday, listed many actors and actresses, along with TV shows, that will win an award at the televised ceremony on September 20. The virtual ceremony, hosted by Leslie Jones, included nominations for one of the first shows available to watch on Apple TV +, and perhaps the most prominent.
For ‘The Morning Show’, The Hollywood Reporter reports Steve Carell was nominated for a Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Mitch Kessler, a co-host fired from the show-in-a show amid sexual harassment allegations.
Jennifer Aniston, an executive producer and a starring role on the show, was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for playing Alex Levy, the co-host of the in-show program.
Nominations for the major Emmy Awards follow shortly after the service wins the 47th Annual Daytime Emmys Awards, with “Ghostwriter” and “Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10” each winning one award.
