Georgia Tech Wins Two Notable Awards

Recently, the Procurement and Business Services department and the Office of Information Technology at Georgia Tech won two notable awards at the Georgia Acquisition Conference, hosted by the University System of Georgia. The conference is designed to highlight the achievements of various schools within the system and honors those who meet the demanding requirements of the award presentation process.
Procurement and Business Services Award
The first prize was awarded to the Procurement and Business Services department for their work in the research-intensive (R1) category, which recognizes the work of the Acquisitions and Business Services team in supporting faculty, staff, and researchers. This award highlights Georgia Tech as a leader in the field of acquisitions in the state of Georgia. The Procurement and Business Services team has been praised by Georgia Tech leadership for their innovative solutions that comply with established laws, rules, and regulations.

Vision Award for Robotic Process Automation
The second award, the Vision Award, was won during the closing session of the Georgia Acquisition Conference by Georgia Tech for its work on Robotic Process Automation. This award recognizes Georgia Tech’s innovative process and presentation for its collaborative efforts between Acquisitions and Business Services and the Office of Information Technology. The initial draft of the presentation was created using chat point, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI.
As CEO of Business Services, Ajay Patel noted, “This Vision Award is a great reflection of all the teamwork that went into planning and implementing the bots, as well as that each team member had the vision to pursue these bots. This award is a testament to the collective work of all involved.”
