After more than a year of tight restrictions, today is the first of two key dates in RI’s reopening: Capacity limits increase to 80% for all industries! “Part of this announcement is making sure we are creating enough of a critical mass, people are coming down, there’s enough foot traffic, there’s enough of a buzz and vibrancy so that our shops can thrive once again.” Mayor @Jorge_Elorza is marking the big day w/ hospitality leaders.
“We’re waiving as many fees as we possibly can, but we also have a team at City Hall for anyone who wants to come outdoors, we’re walking them through the process, providing some technical assistance,” he said. Flanked by leaders in the hospitality industry, Elorza said the city will continue to offer free two-hour parking in spots of the city, waive certain fees for businesses, and continue to provide loans to struggling businesses.
