Google has announced its new Duet AI for Workspace, a range of features designed to help users create, organize, visualize and speed up their work processes. Enabled by the PaLM 2 family of models, these AI-powered productivity tools aim to improve user productivity and streamline workflows. It is widely believed that, Google is already rolling out these features to trusted testers through its Workspace Labs program.
In mobile Gmail, Duet AI will offer contextual assistance that lets you create professional responses that automatically fill in names and other relevant information. The feature also works on generating complete emails with simple prompts. In Docs, Duet AI will help generate content from scratch based on the topic you’d like to talk about; it will even include smart chips for location and status information. Additionally, Docs will include updated neural models that check grammar, proofread text and suggest styles in multiple languages.
For Presentations users, Duet AI can generate images based on cues allowing them to embed images not present on the internet in presentations. Meanwhile in Sheets, Duet AI will automate data classification and custom plan creation using new classification tools that understand the context of data in cells and assign labels accordingly. Sheets also includes tools to help generate personalized plans for tasks or projects using simple words as prompts.
On Meet video calls, Duet AI helps generate unique backgrounds while protecting privacy during video calls.
Google’s Workspace suite aims to simplify work processes for users across various applications such as Gmail, Docs and Meet through its powerful artificial intelligence capabilities enabled by PaLM 2 models.
