Roaring with Victory: Powerhouse of Texas Tech Red Raiders Athletics!

As reported by, the Texas Tech women’s golf program is set to host the Red Raider Invitational at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas. This tournament marks the first time Tech has hosted a stroke play event since April 2016. The two-day tournament will begin on Monday, September 25th with the first two rounds of play, and will conclude on Tuesday, September 26th with the third round.

The Rawls Golf Course at Texas Tech is a par-72 course that spans 6,563 yards. It will provide a challenging and exciting venue for both players and spectators alike. Admission and parking for this event are free, making it accessible for golf enthusiasts of all ages.

The field for the Red Raider Invitational includes teams from Texas TechACU (Abilene Christian University), Oklahoma City University, Princeton, Iowa, UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso), Campbell, Cincinnati, Incarnate Word University, UTRGV (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley), and Houston Baptist University.

Texas Tech’s lineup for this tournament features Gala Dumez in the number one spot, followed by Maja Ambroziak in second place. Kylee Loewe takes up the third position on the team roster while Lauren Zaretsky and Libby Fleming fill in fourth and fifth place respectively. Additionally, Cameron Freund and Klara Hurtova will compete as individuals along with Chelsea Romas.

In their previous outing at the Sam Golden Invitational in Dallas, several members of the Texas Tech women’s golf team showcased impressive performances. Freshman Maja Ambroziak shot rounds of 68, 69, and 71 to finish tied for tenth individually. Meanwhile, sophomore Shannon Tan finished inside the top twenty-five with consistent rounds of 70 and two scores of 71. Junior Kylee Loewe also had a solid showing by finishing -1 Quirky and placing 35th individually.

As a team, the Red Raiders finished -17, just three shots behind both Tulsa and Nebraska who tied for fifth place at -20. This performance adds to Tech’s successful season thus far, with multiple players consistently finishing in the top 35 and individual top-ten finishes in previous tournaments.

The third and final round of the Red Raider Invitational is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. CT. It promises to be an exciting conclusion to an eventful tournament as teams compete for the title. Golf enthusiasts are encouraged to come out and support their favorite players as they showcase their skills on the Rawls Course.
