Samsung India has pledged a contribution of Rs 2 crore to the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority to support the state’s fight against the Covid-19 crisis. In addition, the company has also handed over grocery packages to the authorities for distribution to thousands of ailing migrant and irregular workers in Kanchipuram and Cuddalore districts.
The money will be used to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits, fans and medical consumables, quarantine creation, isolation facilities and public health care. The fund will also be used to provide rations to migrant workers and homeless people in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Previously, the company contributed Rs 15 crore to the PM-CARES Fund to tackle the coronavirus. (ANI)
