“Sifu should test players while also encouraging them to learn, progress, and adapt. When new players encounter hardship, the ability to rise from death will aid them by allowing them to fail and try again several times. However, the cost of making mistakes will swiftly rise, and they will need to master the combat system in order to complete the game “When asked about Sifu’s difficulty, Tarno explained.
In its numerous gameplay trailers, Sifu has always appeared merciless, and now it’s been confirmed that the game will not have difficulty options – at least not at launch. Producer Pierre Tarno told MP1st that difficulty settings could be added later.
Clearly, Sifu is designed to be a title that kicks your arse until you get to grips with its in-depth combat system. And on top of that, its unique ageing mechanic sees the protagonist grow older as you’re beaten down. Something tells us that it won’t be an easy game.
