“One of the audiences we wanted to make sure people understand and make sure they were aware, was those 16 and 17 who are eligible because it’s a Pfizer vaccine. So we sent out to our Woodbury County schools, asked them to send out to the parents, to consider getting their students or children registered for the clinic tomorrow,” said Grieme. With so many spring sports and activities like prom and graduation coming up, Grieme said the sooner people can get vaccinated the better. He said they have reached out to area superintendents to remind students and parents about the vaccine clinic Thursday.
Registration is still open and will remain open for the rest of Wednesday evening for Thursday’s clinic. Siouxland District Health Department Director Kevin Grieme said it’s important for everyone to get vaccinated, but they are seeing an increase in cases among high school and college-age individuals. That’s why one of their goals is to reduce the potential of spreading among that demographic.
