It seems that music will become the new comfort for people during lockdown, as Q1 revenue from the world’s largest music service Spotify reached $ 2 billion on Wednesday. In addition to a spike in sales, the company also reported a 31 percent increase in its subscribers with a monthly active user count of 286 million, according to TechCrunch.
Of the 286 million users, 130 million are premium or users who pay for music services, while 163 million ads are supported. Spotify had launched several news podcasts, playlists and additional music programs on the medium post coronavirus outbreak to help sail the lockdown period.
