Unfortunately, you can’t load while playing Subnautica: Below Zero, you need to quit to the main menu. Then, select play and choose your saved game and it’ll load up.
You also only have one save slot per playthrough, though you can have multiple playthroughs. So if you forget something in a deep cave, and have saved your game since then, you can’t reload and grab whatever you didn’t pick up.
