News Highlights: Like Big Tech Hollywood is losing its legal shield, should be concerned
A growing chorus of politicians is trying to curb Twitter and Facebook about misinformation or censorship claims – but regulation can also affect traditional media.
In the past quarter century, for better or worse, one law has played too much of a role in the vibrant Internet we know today. But despite the fallout from the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riot, calls to reform section 230 of the Communications Decency Act have gotten louder. Some lawmakers are complaining about the outbreak of hatred and the legion of misinformation. Others detest Big’s power Tech to choose whose voice is loudest on platforms perceived as city squares.
