Rumor has it that Nokia is releasing the Nokia 9.3 PureView to finally include flagships like the OnePlus 8 and Samsung Galaxy S20. And while rumors have suggested the launch of HMD Global’s next flagship will take place sometime in November, we now get what could be the first major detail for the Nokia 9.3 PureView’s successor, the Nokia 10 PureView. A new report claims the Nokia 10 PureView will be released in the second half of the year, which is good news for Nokia fans.
A report from NokiaPowerUser has suggested that the Nokia 10 PureView will arrive after June or July next year. A specific timeline is not available because the company has not confirmed anything. All that allegedly came in from HMD Global was the mention of the Nokia 10 smartphone in an internal document that somehow leaked. But beyond what that document said, the latest report also said the Nokia 10 PureView – which is an unofficial name for now – will come running with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 875 processor.
It’s a big deal for a Nokia phone to go hand-in-hand with its rivals, who are also in the process of launching their top of the line flagship phones with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor. The next generation processor will seemingly be much more powerful than last year’s Snapdragon 865 processor according to the AnTuTu scores leaked early. According to the benchmark scores for the Snapdragon 875 processor, shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav on Twitter, the next Qualcomm processor will outperform the Exynos 1080 and Kirin 9000 processors launched by Samsung and Huawei respectively.
In addition, the report said that the Nokia 10 PureView will have a stainless steel frame, a sapphire glass display and a multi-camera setup powered by Zeiss optics. Nokia has long opted for the Zeiss technology on its flagship phone cameras. Even the Nokia 9.3 PureView is expected to come with the same optical technology, but reports suggest there will be another Penta lens line-up.
HMD Global is gearing up to finally give some stiff competition to other players in the market and Nokia 10 PureView could be part of its strategy. It’s stayed away from the flagship market for a long time – even the Nokia 9.3 PureView comes more than a year after it first hit the rumor mill. With the Nokia 9.3 PureView finally taking place this month, HMD Global’s next initiative to increase competition could be the Nokia 10 PureView.
