The Missouri Senate’s Committee on Governmental Appointments on Wednesday accepted the appointment of Governor Mike Parson from a prospective member of the Board of Regents for the State Technical College of Missouri.

Parson nominated Shanda Trautman, from Nixa, in late February 2020 to fill a democratic position in the state TechThe Council of Regents.

In December, however, Parson withdrew from Senate appointments, including Trautman’s. She told the committee on Wednesday that her confirmation hearing had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now approved by the Senate nomination committee – all nominees for the body were approved by one unanimous vote on Wednesday – her nomination to the Linn College Board of Regents is going to vote sometime before the entire Senate.

Trautman leads marketing for Old Missouri Bank in Springfield, is a graduate of Missouri State University, and has been active in the Springfield community.
