News Highlights: TEA Matches City Funding to Increase Access to Technology in Copperas Cove | KWKT

COPPERAS COVE, TX – A community partnership and matching grant from the Texas Education Agency is helping Copperas Cove ISD with the goal that every student has a computing device.
The City of Copperas Cove has allocated $ 118,112.50 from its Coronavirus Relief Funds to facilitate distance learning in CCISD. CCISD applied for a matching grant from the Texas Education Agency, which resulted in $ 236,225 which was used to purchase 865 laptops for use in the district.
Mayor Bradi Diaz said the City of Copperas Cove and Copperas Cove ISD have worked together in different ways in the past, but it’s even more important during the pandemic.
“It was such a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity and experience to be able to make a difference in the lives of our young students in such uncertain and challenging times,” said Diaz.
