News Highlights: The region’s ‘first’ incubator for animal-free food technology is preparing for launch

This year, AAFPP opens what it says is the first Russian and CIS start-up incubator for food companies that produce or develop alternatives on food of animal origin.

Start-ups that are eligible for the program fall into a number of fixed categories. Makers of vegetable alternatives on foods of animal origin (meat, fish, poultry, dairy products, desserts, etc.); cultured meat, fish, poultry or dairy products; plant-based cultivated hybrid products or related products and technologies, such as scaffolding production or 3D bioprinting; or plant food ingredients, such as animal protein substitutes or functional ingredients, are all invited to apply.

With the help of professional mentors, AAFPP aims to help its cohort flesh out their business ideas and improve their market positioning through a four-module program. In this way, AAFPP contributes ‘directly’ to the development of its start-ups, founders Tim Ponomarev and Julia Marsel noted.
