The debut of the Redmi G (2021) gaming laptop has been planned for September 22

Business Chinese Tech Gaming Laptop
Back in August last year, Redmi debuted its first gaming laptop, the Redmi G, as an affordable, capable option in the segment. The Redmi G appears to have been decently successful at the very least, as Redmi has now confirmed that a successor is on the way.

Redmi has now officially confirmed the imminent release of its second-gen affordable gaming laptop, the Redmi G (2021). The Redmi G (2021) will debut on September 22 and will hope to build on the strengths of last year’s Redmi G while keeping things attainable.

The Xiaomi sub-brand is geared to launch the Redmi G (2021) next week. In a post on Weibo, Redmi confirmed a September 22 release for the Redmi G (2021). The theme of the Redmi G (2021) appears to be “light”, with Redmi making multiple references in the teaser image.

“Redmi G (2021). This time there must be light. Because of love, chasing light. Bright-chasing is the high-performance gaming notebook. See you on September 22.”

Or something in that vein anyway. Details of the Redmi G (2021) are unknown but if the first-gen Redmi G is any indication, fans can expect 11th-gen Intel processors, a 16.1-inch 144 Hz display, and a sleek chassis. The Redmi G started at the equivalent of around US$760, and the Redmi G (2021) is unlikely to see a massive jump in prices.
