You should actually be doing it at least once a week, according to tech experts and the National Security Agency.

It takes less than a minute, and simply turning your phone off and then back on again can keep your personal information away from hackers.
“I mean, it really is as simple as it sounds,” Cigent cybersecurity expert Evan Lutz said.
Exactly how rebooting your phone makes it more secure isn’t quite as simple to understand, but Lutz broke it down in basic terms.
“Certain types of hacks are reset once the phone is turned off and turned back on,” Lutz said. “By restarting your phone, no longer have access to it.”
Other simple things you can do with your phone to protect your personal information:
“Because the fix is so easy, absolutely everybody should be doing it,” Lutz said.
