The Honor Earbuds 2 Lite are their latest, lightweight wireless earbuds and at first glance, you’d be forgiven for mistaking them for an Apple product.
Chinese Tech company Honor, which was formerly part of Huawei has built a solid reputation for affordable but high-quality tech and are aspiring to be the next Apple but aimed at a younger crowd.
Firstly, I was sent the white set and the look of these buds very closely imitates that of the Apple Airpods, which can be a good thing if you’re an Android user who likes that Apple look.
The buds are available in two colours Glacier White and Midnight Black which both look nice albeit a little glossy, with a subtle but noticeable Honor logo on the front.
With the thin, plain design they measure 37.5mm x 23.9mm x 21mm the buds are small, but the long stems are noticeable, although not distracting.
Incredibly lightweight weighing only 5.5g, which means they are comfortable in your ears for a decent period of time making them good for work or just listening to music and podcasts, however, they felt a little uncomfortable after a few hours so they may not be a pair to leave in all day.
The case weighs about 41g meaning they are very easy to slip into your pocket and forget about, which is perfect if you want a pair of wireless earphones for on the go or at the gym.
Honor MagicBook 14 Review: Stunning looks meet exceptional performance
Despite this lightness, the build quality felt solid even though they are plastic, however, I would still be careful throwing them in a bag or purse. The case itself measures and has a minimal LED light on the front to indicated if the buds are charged, I would appreciate a little more detail like 3 to 5 LEDs to give me a clear level of charge at a glance.
The Active Noise Cancelling does a great job of filtering out the hum of a plane, train carriage or car.
Connectivity was very simple and easy using Bluetooth 5.2, they were easy to find, and the connection was solid with only one or two drops in the entire time I used them. Featuring an impressive battery life of 32 hours with Up to 6 hours of playback on a single charge the case holds another three full charges.
This will easily last you an entire day and some change, or if like me you often throw your buds in your pocket and forget to charge them up, they’ll likely have some juice left. Epos H3 review: Gaming headset offers superior comfort, immersive audio while being incredibly versatile
The charging case has a 410mAh capacity rechargeable battery and uses a USB-C port for charging like most modern phones, so you won’t have to carry additional cables. It also features fast charging meaning you can get just under 4 hours playback from only 10 minutes of charging.
The 10mm driver offered a surprisingly impressive audio quality, with detailed sound mid-tones and treble is great, giving a brilliant vocal reproduction however, the bass was serviceable but won’t impress those looking for heavier tones.
