The Last of Us, a new video game by Naughty Dog A cross-gen multiplayer game may be available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
At the very least, a recent job posting from the development studio might imply that. Quality assurance and development assistance, with a focus on the studio’s multiplayer games, is listed as one of the key duties. Nothing noteworthy here, but Naughty Dog includes “Working knowledge of PS4 and PS5 systems” in the list of essential talents, so there might be something of interest there. This is an intriguing tidbit, even while it doesn’t necessarily imply that the impending The Last of Us standalone multiplayer game will in fact be a cross-gen title.
We do know that Naughty Dog’s standalone multiplayer project is their most ambitious to date, despite the fact that the studio hasn’t released much about it. Naughty Dog’s Druckmann recently stated, “There is The Last of Us multiplayer project that we’ve been working on for a long time, since even before The Last of Us Part II debuted. “It is our most ambitious project to date, further developing the world and continuing the narrative in a multiplayer setting, though I won’t go into too much detail.
By recently stating that players will be able to join the game’s universe “with a friend,” Druckmann also suggested that the multiplayer game may have a focus on co-op.
Druckmann stated, “We’ve been pretty open that the next Last of Us game is going to be this multiplayer experience, where you’ll be able to enter the world of The Last of Us with your friend and get to experience the tension and the brutality of that world — and a brand new story and cast of characters that live in another city that we haven’t seen yet in the world of The Last of Us. This will be a new episode in the world of The Last of Us.
A few months ago, Naughty Dog unveiled brand-new concept art for the game, which featured a ship that had become trapped and may have revealed one of the game’s planets or levels.
The Last of Us Multiplayer’s release date hasn’t been made public yet. It is unknown if the game will be available on both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. As soon as new details on Naughty Dog’s project are available, we’ll keep you informed.
