The new NSO Zero-Click Attack bypasses all iPhone security to gain secret access to your data

This was discovered by Citizen Lab (highlighted by Techcrunch), a Toronto-based watchdog group, who analyzed the activist’s iPhone 12 Pro and found traces that revealed that the device was hacked in February using a zero-click attack.Developed by Israel’s NSO group, it made use of a vulnerability that was present in iMessage that enabled the Pegasus spyware to spread throughout the smartphone and gain control. While it’s true that this attack occurred in February and since then iOS has gone through numerous updates over the months, one would assume that their phones are now safe. Sadly, that’s not the case.

While it’s true that this attack occurred in February and since then iOS has gone through numerous updates over the months, one would assume that their phones are now safe. Sadly, that’s not the case.
According to Citizen Lab researchers, they’ve seen the zero-click attack successfully exploit the latest at the time — iOS 14.4 update as well as the iOS 14.6 update that we saw in May (along with several features to disable ad tracking).
What’s more disturbing is that the spyware is able to easily breach all built-in security features of iOS 14, particularly BlastDoor that is actually designed to prevent such kinds of hacks by making sure no malicious data is sent over iMessage.
A Bahraini human rights activist’s iPhone was silently hacked earlier this year by a powerful Pegasus spyware that has been in use by several governments across the globe, but this time, without any intervention by the device owner.
