Google Play system updates occasionally lag behind the current month, with the Pixel 6 and 7 series receiving the January 2023 release today after missing December entirely.
For the past two months, the Pixel 7 series had been running the November 1, 2022 build. It has received a few hundred kilobyte updates since its initial release, but not the December release.
This update is 63MB in size (on a Pixel 7 Pro) and brings you up to January 1, 2023. Our 7 Pro is running Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2.1, while a Pixel 7 running the stable January security patch has yet to receive a download this afternoon. However, there are a few other reports this afternoon.
The Pixel 6 series, including the 6a, has been in the same situation and is receiving a 58MB update today. After the quick download and installation process, you must restart your device for it to instal.
In other news, the unified Security & privacy hub is still not widely available to Android 13 QPR2 Beta users. This problem does not affect those using a stable release.
