This Pandemic Gives More Power to Big Tech

Kara Swisher has written for the New York Times on how this pandemic will bring even more power to the collective hands of Big Tech companies.

As we look to healthy companies to help us get the economy going, it is possible that the only ones with real immunity are the tech giants. In this way, Covid-19 accelerated their ascent and strengthened their grip on our lives. And this consolidation of strength, combined with Big Tech’s control over data, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, media, advertising, retail, and even standalone technology, is daunting.

It was also my fear. What happens to all the small businesses that cannot borrow and to customers? They are swallowed by delivery applications, be it groceries, alcohol or other products.
