To promote vaccination and create a sense of community around those who receive vaccinations, WhatsApp has launched a new Vaccines For All sticker package in partnership with the WHO.
The move comes as governments around the world try to encourage as many people as possible to take one of several COVID-19 vaccinations available to help fight the pandemic. WhatsApp says it wants to give users a “fun and creative way to connect with each other and privately express joy, relief and hope” about the vaccinations.
This is by no means the first sticker pack WhatsApp has launched, nor is it the first time the company has partnered with the World Health Authority. Last year it launched the Together At Home package, which was designed to encourage people to stay home while lockdowns were being conducted.
The latest sticker package has a similar design, with pastel-colored cartoony images that are hoped to spread the vaccination message in a fun and accessible way to people of all ages. WhatsApp says the stickers not only encourage people to get vaccinated but also allow people to show their appreciation for health workers who did so much during the pandemic.
