WhatsApp Rolls Out Update to Fix Android Beta Widget Issue
Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has responded promptly to user feedback by releasing a bug fix update aimed at resolving a widget-related problem in its Android beta build. After installing the previous WhatsApp for Android beta update, many users encountered a glitch that affected the app’s widget functionality.
The WABetaInfo report states that the widget was unable to load or display the list of incoming messages, causing inconvenience for those who rely on it to quickly access their messages.
This specific bug has now been effectively fixed with the release of WhatsApp for Android beta version 188.8.131.52 as a bug fix update. Users can once again use the widget without encountering this particular issue. This recent update follows a series of bug fix releases aimed at addressing various user-reported issues.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp also addressed an issue affecting call quality in the Android beta through another bug fix update. Alongside functional improvements, temporary service interruptions were experienced on the platform. In recent times, both global and India-specific outages have been reported due to connectivity issues.
According to IANS, user reports on the DownDetector outage monitor website reached over 41,000 during these incidents. In June, the Meta-owned platform faced a global outage lasting approximately two hours.
Moreover, it is important to note that to these fixes and improvements, WhatsApp is reportedly introducing a new multi-account feature that will allow users to add additional accounts within the same app. This highly anticipated feature will make it easier for users to manage different types of conversations—such as private chats and work-related discussions—all within one app.
This feature is designed with convenience in mind, enabling users to seamlessly switch between multiple accounts and streamline their communication experience on WhatsApp.
