A woman escaped a fire in a mobile home in Winston early Monday morning.

Chief of Battalion Scott Richardson of Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said that just after 2 a.m., crews from the district and from the Winston Dillard Fire District responded to Block 900 of Winston Section Road for a report of a house fire.

Richardson said the crews arrived to find a single wide mobile home with heavy fire and smoke throughout the trailer. The report said the female resident got out before firefighters arrived. She said she was the only one living in the house. The first crew made an aggressive exterior attack and quickly extinguished the fire….
