The Devialet Gemini Earbuds Review
With the Gemini active noise canceling true wireless in-ear headphones, Devialet gets more right than wrong. Mind you, if it goes wrong, it really does go wrong. These truly wireless earbuds have great battery life and sound great – but once you turn off the active noise cancellation, that excellent audio performance is almost lost. In front of

One minute revision
Devialet’s first active noise-cancelling true wireless earbuds won’t give the industry leaders sleepless nights, but that doesn’t mean they’re charmless. If you like taking the road less traveled, you may find them just the ticket. jump to

Should I buy them?
Build quality and finish are good up to par. No, there’s no room here for Devialet’s signature designs, but the Gemini still manages to look fairly distinctive. Battery life is competitive – it’s certainly superior to Sony’s new (and all-conquering) WF-1000XM4. And while the control app doesn’t do enough, and the touch controls don’t consistently do what you want, the Devialet has plenty to offer when it comes to sound. They listen fast, well organized, clean and snappy.
That’s always assuming you’ve left Active Noise Canceling turned on. As for the noise-canceling circuitry, it’s quite effective – but more importantly, if you turn it off, the Gemini’s noise goes sideways. And not in a good way.
How eccentric do you find your active noise canceling true wireless in-ear headphones? That’s the real question. Related Videos

Devialet Gemini price and availability
Available now for $299 / £279 (around AU$390)
The Devialet Gemini active noise canceling true wireless in-ear headphones are on sale now for $299 / £279. That works out to around AU$390, with Australian pricing yet to be confirmed.
That’s roughly equivalent to other true wireless in-ears from specialist brands (such as Bose, Grado, Sony or Sennheiser). We’re not used to Devialet products being so competitively priced… For example, the recent Phantom I speaker costs $3,200 / £2,790 / AU$5,490.
