Review on Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones
- THX AAA AMPLIFICATION: The world’s first headphone with THX AAA technology, Panda boasts the world’s lowest possible levels of distortion. You have to hear it to believe it.
- PLANAR-RIBBON DRIVERS: Conventional drivers, step aside. Planar-ribbon drivers are more distortion-resistant, more responsive, and more realistic-sounding.

The Review on Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones
At first glance, the Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones don’t seem all that impressive. Their dull, all-black design isn’t nearly as eye-catching as the comparably priced AirPods Max. Instead, they look like a cheap counterfeit product that you would find at your local flea market. Get past that drab exterior, though, and you’ll be treated to one of the best listening experiences on the market.
What the Drop Panda lacks in design flair, it more than makes up for up front with a stunning spec sheet – and what Drop considers the “first pair of headphones to deliver an audiophile listening experience without wires.”
Headphone type: Closed, planar magnetic Battery life: 30+ hours Impedance: 26 ohms Sensitivity: 100 dB at 1 kHz/1 mW Isolation: -40 dB THD: 64 dB SPL at 300 Hz < 0.1% Frequency response: 10-50,000 Hz Control unit: 55mm, flat magnetic ribbon Microphones: Dual IPX 6 waterproof Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity Includes: Carrying case, USB-C charging cable, 3.5mm AUX cable
Audio Without Compromise Drop Panda Headphones Wireless
Whether you’re gaming, listening to music or chatting on the phone, the Drop Panda offers incredible sound quality and clarity not found in other cheaper products. Small details that do not come through with lesser headphones with too much noise and distortion are immediately noticeable. They’re also comfortable to wear for hours, with oversized ear cups and an easily adjustable headband for support. I found the Drop Panda to cling a little tighter to my ears than other headphones, but it never got uncomfortable, even after extended playing sessions.
Where the Drop Panda really shines, though, is with the newly added support for SoundID, making it easy to optimize your listening experience based on hearing ability and general preference. After installing the SoundID app on your smartphone, you can do several listening tests to properly tune your new headphones. Once that’s done, you can use those settings on your phone or pc. And – to my surprise – there was a noticeable difference in sound quality after the tuning process.
If you’re curious about the tech, you can find a variety of performance charts on the Drop website, which show impressive results across all frequencies for total harmonic distortion and frequency response.
In short, the Drop Panda headphones definitely perform as a $400 product.
