The Review on portable Unicima V2 Projector Review
The Unicima V2 projector has a neat handle on the top of the unit, which measures as small as 8.15 x 7.64 x 6.77 inches. It weighs only 2 pounds and 2 ounces without a power source. It looks like a perfect portable projector.
However, the V2 does not have a rechargeable battery and must be plugged into a power source to work. You could use this projector on a camping trip with a power plant like the Bluetti AC50S, but it would be better if the V2 had a rechargeable battery.
The back of the projector has a 19V DC power input, a USB Type A and an HDMI port. There is a power indicator and an infrared receiver. There is also a connection for audio. V2 does not have an SD card slot.
On the front of the projector is a lens and grill for built-in two-channel 3W speakers. At the top of the projector is a wheel to adjust the focus of the lens, and at the bottom are screw holes to fix the projector to the ceiling.
With 1920x1080p resolution, V2 projects up up to 100 inch screen from a distance of about 2.5 meters from the screen.
The contrast score looks decent at 6500:1, which is significantly lower than the 10,000:1 contrast of the Vankyo Leisure 530W I saw earlier this month, but the resulting screen image is quite dark. It is well. Top ZDNET Review
According to Amazon, the Unishima V2 is rated at 7,000 lumens, but I suspect this is a fake. V2 is not very bright in full sun but is passable in dark rooms.
If you understand the difference between lumens and ANSI lumens and need sufficient brightness for projection in sunlight, it is important to choose a device with ANSI lumen rating.
V2 has up up to 40% manual focus and manual keystone adjustment. You can also use the remote control to zoom manually from 60 to 120% (AAA batteries are not included with the projector).
You must use a remote control to operate this projector. The body of the Unicima V2 does not have much buttons except the power button on the top of the body. Press the power button twice on the top of the projector to turn on the projector.
System settings can be easily configured with the remote and come with several pre-installed apps such as YouTube, Netflix and Aptoid TV.
You can easily set the keystone with the remote control. You can connect the projector via Wi-Fi or the Internet to cast images from your mobile device to V2.
It’s easy to connect Unicima V2 to your mobile device and cast your screen. I’m pretty skeptical about the 3W speaker rating, but I think it’s optimistic at best. The sound output of the V2 is not too noisy at 100% volume.
If V2 is used outdoors, the projector must be connected to a Bluetooth speaker for friends to hear. However, there is little distortion on the audio jack or headset and the audio is clear.
The Unicima V2 is a decent projector and could be much better if it had a rechargeable battery and was truly portable.
If you use the projector in a dark place and you want everyone in the room to hear the sound, connect it to a speaker with the correct sound output.
For under $190, other projectors on the market are bright, loud, and have a fully portable rechargeable battery, like the XGIMI Mogo Pro. Hopefully the next version of the Unisima projector can fix some of these issues with the next upgrade.
For affordable projectors that are lightweight and have a variety of connectivity and app options, the Unimica V2 projector is an inexpensive option as a secondary speaker for your home or small office and is reasonable if your primary projector fails. It is a backup projector. Make sure you have external speakers or a headset to enjoy a good sound range.
