Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Specification, Rumors, Review, Price And Launch Date

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was launched in Sep 2014 to near universal acclaim, but no sooner had Samsung’s latest phablet hit the market than we started hearing the first rumors about the next Galaxy Note 5.

2015 is another big year for Samsung smartphones as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will feature another top choice of the year. According to  many leaks and rumors that we’ve been private to, the fifth Phablet will be loud better, and maybe the most revered smartphone of 2015.

While it’s still recently days, there are enough rumours and whispers flittering around to give us a glimpse at what we can expect to see come launch day.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Design

We all know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is on the way, but no one actually knows what appearance it’ll land in. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have both raised the bar for Samsung build quality and design.

They’re by far the most premium flagships the South Korean tech giant has produced to date, most attractive, and any step backwards will be a real blow.

The trouble is, Samsung has sacrificed the removable battery in its modern flagships, opting instead for a glass back and thinner frame. While a glass back would definitely feel more premium that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 faux leather rear, we just can’t see how it can co-exist with a removable battery. We’d love to see a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 which retains its predecessors premium metal frame, along with a new removable LG G4-like loose rear cover.

This would offer the best of both worlds – a premium device, and flexibility in the form of a removable battery. Throw in a microSD slot (which was axed from the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge), and we’ll be very happy indeed. Given Android M full support for USB Type-C connectors too, we would not be shocked to see one of those gracing the bottom of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 either.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Display

Samsung’s screens are known for being very bright, colourful, and bold. The Samsung Galaxy S6 upped the ante with a super high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which is typically referred to as a 2K screen. SamMobile advises that the Galaxy Note 5 may also have a 2K resolution, but Samsung may also knock the screen up to 4K.

If Samsung gives the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 a 4K screen, it would be 1 of the very first smartphones with that kind of resolution. In fact, the higher the resolution, the more power the screen will absorb from the battery, which is something that typically bother users. The display will be Super AMOLED, as common, and is likely to be the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 5.7-inch screen.

Samsung is also expected to reboot the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge when it introduces the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The curved screen is rumored to measure 5.9-inches, and sport two edges. It’s unclear whether the edges will be substantial and usable like they were on the first variant, or if they will be attractive, but useless, like those on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Processor

Rumours suggest the Samsung Galaxy S5 will come with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and 4GB RAM, or Samsung’s own Exynos 7422 chipset, with 4 Cortex-A57 cores and 4 Cortex-A53. Samsung shunned the 810 for its Galaxy S6 citing overheating effect and rather opted for its own Exynos chip, so the latter isn’t out of the query. Then again, the upcoming OnePlus 2 will feature a revised version of the 810 that doesn’t have these problems, so Qualcomm could be back on Samsung’s radar soon.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Camera

Value walks is reporting that the camera in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 could be as powerful as 21 MP in resolution, though we’ve learned 18 MP anywhere and it is quite possible Samsung will stick to 16 MP as it did with the Samsung Galaxy S6. Again, Value walks suggests a 6 MP front- facing camera, and other sites are described 5MP or even 8Mp selfies. Although, the word on the street seems to be a huge sensor for the main camera and a powerful front-facing camera. Expect to be able to take full-HD video.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Battery

We’ve read rumours suggesting a 4000 mAh or 4,100 mAh battery cell, and an ultra-battery saver mode. Either or not the battery will be removable will largely depend on whether Samsung sticks with the metal chassis seen in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and rumours suggest it’ll.
