Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Hands-on : Review

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Introduction

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is the new Samsung all-inclusive phone that you really want if you can afford it – and lets you surround yourself with its gigantic screen. We went ahead with the S10 Plus and we were immediately seduced by its larger and better version of the Galaxy S10 and its cheaper Galaxy S10e. There is much to love and little to dislike.

It redefines what is a “phablet” in 2019, with a 6.4-inch edge-to-edge screen and Samsung’s new Infinity-O display. With a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, the pixels now extend from the small top speaker to the thin chin and extend to the curved left and right edges. The S10 Plus features a new generation Infinity screen so large that it gives the front camera a hole in the upper right corner of the Super AMOLED panel. That’s Samsung’s answer to notch cutting, and it’s slightly better than the iPhone XS Max.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Design

Given that the Galaxy S8 and S9 phones were very pretty, it is not surprising that the S10 and S10 + phones are also very attractive. S10 +, naturally, has a larger footprint with dimensions of 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm and a weight of 175 g, about the size of a OnePlus 6T but lighter. The use of a virtually goggle-free Infinity screen, with perfectly curved sides, catches the eye first and allows Samsung to integrate more with the screen without creating any of the big phones. cut; you will want a note 9 for that. But the rest of the S10 and S10 + are very pretty, with a glass bottom making it easy to charge wirelessly and allowing phones to share power with other handsets and devices, such as the Galaxy Watch, with features wireless charging. The colors range from glossy white to midnight black and bright shades of green and blue, all of which look pretty good, though the Ceramic Black and Ceramic White colors are exclusive to the top-of-the-range S10 + models.

Speaking of fingers, there is no fingerprint scanner on the back. Instead, Samsung has opted for an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display. At the bottom of the two handsets, there is a small speaker grille, a USB-C port and even a 3.5mm headphone jack (remember). The analog plug is a neat touch; we know that many people opt for wireless headphones, but we are very happy to have some old support. And thanks to this jack, as well as wireless connections, the new Galaxy can carry Dolby Atmos audio, much like the S9.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Display

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus’s 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display makes it the largest S-phone display to date, larger than the S8 Plus by 5.8 inches and matching the size of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Screen 9. It is also much better.

The attraction for us so far is in the screen/body ratio of 93.1%, Samsung has found a way to integrate more pixels on a narrower body. The phone measures 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm, roughly the size of the S9 Plus – a little less tall, a little wider, and noticeably thinner and lighter. It feels better in the hand than the Note 9 physically taller and its screen/body ratio of 83.4%. Its amazing screen-size magic boils down to the Infinity-O display type. Samsung has avoided using a notch cut at the top of its flagship phone by opting for a laser cut hole in the upper right corner. This is where the front camera is integrated and is a little wider in the S10 Plus than in the S10 and S10e because of the two front cameras instead of one.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Camera

The Samsung S10 Plus, like the S10, includes a set of robust rear-facing, three-lens cameras including a regular 12MP lens, a 12MP optical zoom telephoto lens, and a new ultra-wide 16MP lens.

We took ultra-wide pictures and noticed that his field of view of 123 degrees was rather wide. This makes you understand his goal: adapt everything you want in the plan. Thus, your poses in front of tall buildings and iconic statues will not force your photo taker (often a stranger) to cross the street. But, in our experience, this can also result in a fisheye effect. We will see in our final exam.

The front cameras are 10MP and 8MP, the latter coming into play for the depth. It allows better portrait photos and is exclusive to the S10 Plus variant of Samsung’s new phones.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Processor & Battery

In addition to getting the Snapdragon 855 or the latest Exynos chipsets (depending on the country), this phone has 8GB of RAM and starts 128GB of internal storage. Samsung no longer boots with 64GB of storage and includes a slot for expanding the storage of the microSD card. The most expensive ceramic versions – exclusive to the S10 Plus – offer 512 GB of internal storage with 8 GB of RAM or a ridiculous 1 TB of internal storage with 12 GB of RAM. With a microSD card of 500 GB, Samsung notes that you can have a 1.5 TB phone in your pocket.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – In-Display Fingerprint

The fingerprint sensor also makes an invisible turn that you will want to show. After two years of interruption, Samsung’s fingerprint sensor is back on the scene, this time under the screen thanks to Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint technology.

3D digitization of your S10 fingerprint should allow for more accurate unlocking and more secure than the Huawei Mate 20 and OnePlus 6T optical fingerprint scanners. We will have to continue testing it, but overall we appreciate the fact that all the technicians are hiding under the glass.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Verdict

The S10 Plus is now the Galaxy S luxury phone for two reasons: the standard S10 has the same triple camera system and the S10e is offered at an even better price. The Plus is also available in a special and expensive edition, with a storage capacity of 12 GB of RAM / 1 TB, which is delirious but will delight spectators among us.

If you want the biggest screen possible on the latest flagship product from Samsung and make many selfies, you will appreciate the display and additional front cameras. But that’s the extra expense you’ll want to take into account because the features you want might well concern the two cheapest S10 models.
