When people see this phone, I get requested if it’s in a case however nevertheless it’s encased in a military class body that has enlarged bumpers on every corner to help with drops and so forth. The back has a more rubberized touch to assist with gripping on the device. Except its S7 siblings it has real buttons instead of capacitive style ones which help with if you have dirty hands or take a dip underwater. Believe me; they positively do help. Volume button on the left and that you’ve got a power button on the right.

Also, Samsung made sure to take back that customizable Active Key button. It takes seconds to program it to open entirely different apps whether you long press, double tap or hold.

Samsung went to their senses and brought back removable storage, and you’ll be able to pop out the sim card tray and achieve access to that plus throwing in a microSD card that may support capacities up to 200GB.

To verify its running almost day and then some Samsung has thrown in a massive 4,000mAh battery. Samsung takes into the fact if you’re living an “Active” lifestyle you multiple likely aren’t going to be near any power outlet shortly. Wireless Charging and Quick Charging is still available to help you get back to the work.

Software

In Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, Android M aka 6.0 runs. TouchWiz OS is working steadily on the S7 Active. Where the S6 Active wanted a fingerprint scanner, Samsung did right and hit one on the Active this time. Talking of Active, the excellent old “Active Key” still has a spot on the phone. The ability to bring up a particular app whether you long press, short press or double tap is essential to accessing stuff quickly.

Camera

In S7 Active, 12MP shooter had no problems doing that, and the 5MP was cool for selfies when necessary. Video quality is, of course, excellent with the 4K capabilities on the back or 2K on the front. Double Tapping the home screen remains to be the best and fastest way to launch a smartphone camera on ANY smartphone on the market.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Review

As I say, yearly the S Active smartphones from Samsung are a few of my favorites and the S7 Active I like more than the S7. The build quality is nice with its rugged case design, it takes excellent photos and operates easily. The only downside is its exclusivity with AT&T. You need to be either a customer or consider about switching over as well as paying that $800 heavy price tag.
