Most Viewed YouTube Videos Of All Time- Despacito has recently overtaken Wiz Khalifa’s “See you again” and has become the most viewed YouTube video of till date. Luis Fonsi’s 2017 hit also sailed past long-term record holder PSY’s “Gangnam Style”. Video sharing website YouTube is one of the most popular ways to listen to music and watch clips online. Created in 2005 by former PayPal employees, Google bought the site for $1.65 billion back in 2006. The first ever youtube video to reach 1 billion views online on YouTube was the Gangnam Style back in 2012. Since then, many videos have surpassed a billion views, and a handful has hit the two billion mark.

“Despacito,” sung by Luis Fonsi Ft. Daddy Yankee has rocketed past the competition following its release at the start of 2017 to take number one spot on the list of Top 10 Most Viewed YouTube Video 2017 and also of all time. The Spanish-language record has been viewed close to 3.5 billion times, thus quickly outstripping Wiz Kalifa, Psy, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.

“See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa Ft. Charlie Puth

“See you again,” sung by Wiz Khalifa Ft. Charlie Puth outstripped PSY’s “Gangnam Style” to become the most watched YouTube video till July 2017. But it held the top spot only for a few weeks before it was also overtaken miraculously taken over by the “Despacito.” The song, which was licensed for the soundtrack to the Fast and The Furious 7, has racked up just over 3 billion views since it was released at the beginning of April 2015. The song is a tribute to actor “Paul Walker” who died in a car accident in 2013.

“Gangnam Style” by PSY

Cult classic legend, the “Gangnam Style” took the world by storm when it was first released in 2012. The South Korean song was the first ever YouTube video to break one billion views deadlock on YouTube. Since then, it has rocketed to almost 3 billion views. The song exceeded the charts in more than Thirty countries, and even then-Prime Minister David Cameron and then-US President Barack Obama were seen bopping with its iconic moves.

“Sorry” by Justin Beiber

YouTube star and singer Justin Bieber replaced himself in the Top 10 Most Viewed YouTube Videos when “Sorry” jumped up and “Baby” moved out of this list. The 2015 song has been viewed around 2.7 billion times, whereas “Baby,” the track that is to thank for Bieber’s fame, is far behind with less than 1.7 billion views.

“Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson Ft. Bruno Mars

The official video for “Uptown Funk” sung by Mark Ronson Ft. Bruno Mars has just over 2.6 billion views on YouTube. Released in November 2014, the “Uptown Funk” won three Grammy awards. It also hit a record 2.34 million listens just within a week in the UK when it was first released in January, before spending as number one in the Singles Chart for seven consecutive weeks.

Illustrated by PopMatters as “likely the best of Taylor Swift’s career,” the song peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart and stayed for two weeks.
