Consumers were completely surprised by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both of which are less fun to put mobile phones in their cars. With several exceptions, automakers responded by adding these functions to the car quickly. However, this exception list may shrink in the near future.
Toyota will immediately support Android Auto, Bloomberg is familiar with the press. Source did not seem to give Bloomberg to give this additional schedule, but I feel that I can announce it early in October. Toyota representatives did not respond immediately to the road show comment request and the automaker merely told Bloomberg that "the direct connection is what the company is considering."
With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto you can put the phone experience in the dashboard and reduce distractions. These usually provide a clean user interface that can access a small number of phone applications specialized in navigation, messaging, streaming audio and calling.

According to Bloomberg, Toyota has not added Android Auto yet because of "safety and security concerns." I also heard it at the launch of Toyota Corolla Hatchback in 2011.
