Marvel’s Daredevil
When Netflix and Marvel TV made their deal, no one expected Marvel’s Daredevil to be such a hit with critics and fans that it would be almost instantly renewed for a 2nd season. The original plan was for 4 different Marvel series of thirteen episodes all before The Defenders team-up miniseries. Now, Marvel’s Daredevil is going to have at least 26 episodes.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones
Marvel’s Jessica Jones had a harder mountain to climb than Daredevil because the title character of this series wasn’t well known outside of Marvel’s comic book readers. Jessica Jones was a considered to be a relatively recent addition to Marvel, even though she has been around for fifteen years! But the creative team of the Jones Netflix series accomplished to happily introduce the character and Jone’s world in a psychological thriller that also had superhero elements.

Orange Is the New Black
Netflix may not release its numbers, but there is substantial evidence that Orange Is the New Black is its most popular show. Netflix has already renewed ‘Orange’ through its 7th season, making it the longest-running Netflix series. Jenji Kohan, a weeds creator, brought this series to life with a predominantly female cast, including Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Taylor Schilling, Danielle Brooks, and Natasha Lyonne while exploring life inside a women’s prison.

The OA
While Netflix’s promotional campaigns have never been overwhelming, it was an exceptionally quiet lead-up to ‘The OA’ the shrouded-in-secret sci-fi-ish project from writer/actress Brit Marling and writer/director Zal Batmanglij. A project that challenges any simple classifications, ‘The OA’ stars Marling as a woman who turns to her family and hometown after being missing for seven years, complete with mysterious scars and the other main physical changes, and recruits locals to help her find different missing people. Despite solid performances and superb direction from Marling, Jason Isaacs and Scott Wilson with others. The OA is Netflix’s most polarizing series yet, with the twisty, genre-straddling storyline dividing viewers, particularly with that unpredictable finale.

Marco Polo
Marco Polo was an oddly bold swing for Netflix, as it committed for $90 million to its ten-episode first season. While Marco hasn’t been as critically popular as some of Netflix’s other originals, this old fiction series about the life of Marco and his time in a court of Kublai Khan must have done well quite by Netflix standards to earn its upcoming 2nd season.

G.L.O.W.
G.L.O.W., from exec producer Jenji Kohan and a couple of her proteges, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, is based on the real-life Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling television series. Set in the 1980s, G.L.O.W. sees a group of failed actresses and assorted misfits shaped into a female wrestling league by a cult-flick screenwriter (Marc Maron) and a trust-fund kid (Chris Lowell). It’s a fast-paced, funny and immensely sweet series that goes down like candy. It’s smartly written, well-acted, infectious as hell, and it has a huge heart, making it one for the Best that Netflix has to offer, whether viewers are fans of wrestling or not.

Arrested Development
Beating Arrested Development regarding sheer work ethic is hard. The first 3 seasons of the ex-Fox comedy are as a finely-calibrated comedy as you’re ever likely to see. Story from Mitchell Hurwitz about a prosperous family who loses everything and the one who has no choice but to have them all together (Jason Bateman) is a near-perfect part of the comedic art. All moments in the show matter and every moment is a possible comedic callback or clue for a future joke.

Sense8
Sense8 seems like a series that could only happen on Netflix. This collaboration between J. Michael Straczynski and Wachowskis is one of the rare sci-fi shows to actively probe into sexuality, gender identity, and other frequently taboo tags. The basis of Sense8 is that eight strangers from all over the world find themselves mentally linked to each other.
