The Chinese telecommunications firm has been producing mobile phones since 1997. It’s also the most significant telecom infrastructure producer in the world. The company also makes tablets and Android smartphones. Recently it has stepped into an Android Put on-based device with the smartwatch market. It’s another one of the large smartphone producers from China.
Huawei is on a roll with their mid-range sub-brand Honor, which includes a slew of high-quality but reasonably priced smartphones that only get better with each iteration. The latest addition to the series, the Honor 6X, may share some similarities with its predecessor. However, a more refined design and fairly a few improvements are available this time around.
Last year’s Honor 5X was an excellent budget phone with its brushed, all-metal physique. The Honor 6X refines that trendy design with a silky smooth metal frame. There are subtle plastic inserts on the bottom and top of the phone for antenna signals. However, they blend in with the phone’s metal physique.
The edges gently curve to rest perfectly in your palm, and there aren’t any sharp edges. The re’s a volume rocker above the power button, a fingerprint sensor on the back, a SIM card and MicroSD slot on the other side of the phone, and a Micro-USB port on the bottom. Honor provides a few color options, together with silver, gold, and gray.
Up front is a 5.5-inch LCD with a Full-HD (1080p) resolution, and it’s a nice display overall. Sharpness isn’t a problem, and it will get bright enough to allow for comfy outdoor visibility. However, my central gripe with this screen is that the colors seem like pretty washed out. That mentioned, it does get the job finished, and the massive display gives a good experience when browsing the web, enjoying games and watching movies.
Beneath the hood, the Honor 6X comes with the Kirin 655, 3GB of RAM. The re’s including a global version of the device ready with 4GB of RAM. That is a significant improve in processing power and RAM when in comparison with its predecessor, and it shows in the efficiency, which is impressive for a mid-range smartphone.back to menu ↑
Display Size: 5.5-inch
Processor: Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 655
RAM: 3 or 4GB
Storage: 32 or 64GB
Rear Camera: 12 MP
Front Camera: 8 MP
Battery Capacity: 3,340mAh
Honor 6X comes with a massive 3,340mAh battery capacity. Huawei claims that the Honor 6X can last for as long as 1.5 days with heavy usage and two days with reasonable usage which is certainly a very lofty claim. I did get around 1.5 days of battery life very consistently, though, with usage that included a lot of gaming and a fair amount of watching movies on Youtube.
We’ve seen a lot of smartphones launch this year that includes dual camera setups – several from Huawei itself – however, what Huawei declares is impressive about the Honor 6X is the fact that it’s the first smartphone in its price range to come back with this feature. Every dual-camera setup utilizes the secondary camera in another way, and the Honor 6X comes with a 12MP main shooter and 2MP secondary unit, with the latter getting used purely to capture depth data that can take benefit of when using the camera’s wide aperture mode. It also has an 8MP front-facing camera.back to menu ↑
