Xiaomi’s phones aren’t officially sold in the US. It’s larger than Apple and Samsung and one day Note 3 will go on open sale in the US. Redmi is the company’s budget smartphone lineup, and the Note 3 sits on the top of a series with a fantastic design and decent performance.
The user experiences we obtained with the Xiaomi Note 3 with the Xiaomi Mi 4C. Not like that phone, the software hadn’t been altered earlier than the Note 3 was shipped to us, and so we received exactly the experience Xiaomi intended.
However these things are simple to tweak, and we had our Xiaomi Note 3 up and running as we would some other UK Android phone inside minutes. We’ll clarify how we did so in the Software section of this review.
As we talked about, Xiaomi doesn’t officially sell phones in the UK, One of many items to watch out for buying a phone from China is that it supports your network. The Note 3 provides 4G connectivity on each SIM slots. Also, see Best dual-SIM phones in the market. Its price in the USA $180.

Xiaomi is no beginner in the smartphone making game, and the Redmi Note 3 is a tribute to the experience the company has acquired overhead the years. Moving over the plastic builds from the Redmi Note 2, the Note 3 features a metallic build that grants it a good heft and leaves no stone unturned in hiding away the exact price of the device. No way you can say that is a low-cost device.
On the face of it, the Redmi Note 3 would appear as a device sporting a metallic unibody build. The advertising and marketing materials sure do point to this as they smoothen out and make the back seem to be made of one material. However, the combination of plastic bits to the metallic back that Xiaomi went for doesn’t easily give it away. The metal main body bears a cool, smooth finish. Xiaomi has a way to incorporate the antennae required for radio conversation without plastic band lines, and another one in texture difference makes the device less slippery than an entirely flat, metallic phone would be.
The back of the Redmi Note 3 isn’t completely flat. It does bear curves on the edges, and these help with the grip of the device considering that it has a decent thickness to it, together with a bit of height. In my case, the curved back and rounded corner help in holding the phone, resting on the palm for one handed use.
Hardware and Performance
The Note 3 have some decent features, and even the 2GB of RAM version turned in an excellent performance in our benchmarks. Everything seems fast on this phone.
Xiaomi has specified a 2GHz, 64-bit Octa-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. There’s also 16GB of internal storage and a huge capacity. The 4000mah non-removable battery.
It supports Performance and Balanced operation modes. The Note 3’s score of 4598 points in the multi-core part has been defeated only by the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
Like just about every other budget Chinese phone we have seen the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is provided with a 5Mp front camera and 13Mp rear camera. There’s a two-tone flash on the back.
We found colors to be very warm. However, the overall result is quite acceptable and better than what we noticed from the Mi 4C. The camera settings to adjust saturation, sharpness, and contrast. And also you can use the volume button.
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- Octa-core processor

Xiaomi yet refers to this model as the same Redmi Note 3. However, the fans began calling it the Redmi Note 3 Pro. We’ll still stick to the official name of the device as on the box, however, append it with the SoC wherever needed.
The Snapdragon 650 is a hexacore SoC. In case you go by pure numbers, the Helio X10 has more variety of cores (eight). However, the Snapdragon 650 has a much better setup within six cores. Snapdragon 650 runs with 4x Cortex at 1.2GHz, and 2x Cortex-A72 clocked at 1.8GHz. The A53 cluster is supposed for light-weight and regular working tasks.
In case you purchased the Redmi Note 3 and expected average battery life. Redmi Note 3 is a perfect beast when it comes to battery life and Non-removable 4,000 mAh battery.
Let’s take a look at all the ingredients included in the Redmi Note 3. You have the Snapdragon 650 with its 4x Cortex-A53 cores for power sufficient working cases, however, with the broad range of screen brightness, there’s a substantially massive capacity battery regarding physical size, and Android 5.1.1.
