Chinese smartphone maker ZTE was hit by US export restrictions on charges that it illegally shipped telecommunications equipment to Iran and North Korea.
The US Department of Commerce issued Monday the ban on exporting, alleging that ZTE lied to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) on disciplinary measures supposed to be applied to senior employees regarding illegal shipments.
