The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless (2022) is an updated version of the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless, a lightweight gaming mouse. The 2022 version features a higher quality PTFE foot and a solid feel with less flex. Finish. It has a honeycomb shell and an ambidextrous design with two buttons on the left side.
It can be used comfortably with either a claw or fingertip grip, regardless of hand size, although it may be difficult to reach all buttons with a fingertip grip. In terms of performance, it has good click latency, standard polling rate options and a wide CPI range that allows you to adjust the set CPI in increments of 100. The SteelSeries GG software is also fully compatible with both Windows and macOS.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless (2022) is a very suitable mouse for office use. It’s solidly built and feels comfortable to use even when working for long periods of time; it can be connected wirelessly via a USB receiver or Bluetooth connection, so you don’t have to worry about cables getting tangled up on your desk. With the included software, you can programme all the buttons to best suit your workflow, and the software is compatible with both Windows and macOS. However, the scroll wheel has no L/R tilt control and does not unlock free scrolling.
In terms of feel, the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless has a hard, rigid build. The body of the mouse is textured and the buttons themselves are resistant. The biggest complaint about this mouse is that the mouse buttons themselves are not nearly as resistant to clicks. This can be annoying, for example when playing games, as you have to click somewhat harder. This is also true of the scroll wheel, which is actually a good thing in that case, as most games I (and many others) play involve jumping with the scroll wheel. The fact that it is harder to scroll means that there are fewer unintentional jumps in games.
Along with the Aerox 3 Wireless, we also tested the SteelSeries QCK Prism XL mousepad. There is not much to say about the surface. We didn’t have the slightest issue with slippage while using it and it offers just the right size for everyone. SteelSeries offers even larger sizes if you want a full desk mat or an RGB blanket for small children or animals thanks to their 62″ wide 5XL option. We find the RGB lighting to be very colour accurate and the ‘rope’ style lighting does not add any unwanted stiffness to the mousepad, as with the stitched edges on other premium products.
