Altec Lansing’s Mini H2O is a Bluetooth speaker designed for summer, it is fully waterproof and can float in the pool and be dropped with no problem. Its small size means you can throw it in a bag, tote or even your pocket and forget it’s there. You shouldn’t expect excellent audio from a speaker this small and inexpensive at $39.99, but the Mini H2O distorts better than expected at this price point. It is therefore a solid choice if portability and outdoor usability are important to you, but even at this low price point you can find better audio performance in other portable Bluetooth speakers.
On the front of the speaker, there is a speaker grille covering the 1-inch dual drivers, and the microphone for the speakerphone function is also located here. On the top surface there are three buttons. The power button and the two buttons ‘+’ and ‘-‘ serve more functions than they appear. The bottom panel has a snapshot compartment protecting the micro USB charging port and the 3.5 mm Aux input, both cables included. The left panel has a metal carabiner loop and a small carabiner is included.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]On tracks with heavy bass, such as The Knife’s ‘Silent Shout’, the Mini H2O stalls predictably. This is a small speaker and bass is not what you should expect, and playing heavy bass tracks at high volumes will not yield good results; the Mini H2O distorts quite heavily at the maximum volume for this track, and the frame vibrates violently. Distortion also occurs at moderate volumes on tracks with deep bass frequencies, such as Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “No Church in the Wild”.
Enjoy the splash zone with the aqua blue Altec Lansing Mini H2O 2 Bluetooth Wireless Speaker. This compact speaker has a shockproof enclosure and IP67 water and dust protection, allowing it to float on water; connect two speakers for extra power, and take calls with the speakerphone function with microphone. The battery lasts up to 6 hours on a charge and comes with a carabiner clip, charging cable and 3.5mm AUX cable.
At Php 1,995, it is a rather expensive piece of audio equipment. Now let’s check out its performance. As a tiny speaker, you can’t expect the kind of bass you’d expect from hip-hop music. However, at high volumes, the device vibrates, tearing and distorting songs. When played at the highest level of volume, the speaker starts to vibrate furiously. Again, the majority of the 1,995 pataka will focus on if you want an ultra-portable, all-tolerant Bluetooth speaker.
