If you’ve seen the Arctis 5 and 7, you should have a good idea of what the Arctis 3 looks like. The headset is a black over-the-ear model with large ear cups and a flexible fabric headband. It is a medium size. The design is sleek and unobtrusive, so you could use the Arctis 3 on an aeroplane, train, or car without anyone giving you a second look.
In the back of the left ear cup is a volume wheel and a mic-mute button. In the front, there is a flexible microphone that can be pulled out of the way. The right ear cup doesn’t have anything, which makes me wonder if the volume wheel might have been better there. Still, there aren’t too many buttons, so the layout isn’t a big deal.
SteelSeries makes some of the most comfortable headsets on the market, and the Arctis line is no different. The Arctis 3 is very easy to wear, just like the 5 and 7. It has a flexible headband and big, soft ear cups, just like the 5 and 7. You don’t have to fight with hard notches; just put it on, and the headband will do the rest.
At least the mic is a good one. It has a rich, clear sound, but it puts a little too much emphasis on the S and P sounds. You could use it for almost any multiplayer game, but professional streamers might still want something with a little more power.
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 is a great gaming headset for PC gamers who also want to use it on other devices. For this headset to sound its best, you need to be able to use SteelSeries GG. However, it works fine on other platforms as well. The microphone is impressive, and anyone who likes Discord will like how well-made and retractable it is.
